EARTH SCIENCE- GEOLOGY, METEOROLOGY, OCEANOGRAPHY AND ASTRONOMY Today we live in a time when the Earth and its inhabitants face many challenges. Our climate is changing and that change is being caused by human activity. Earth scientists recognized this problem and will play a key role in efforts to resolve it. We are also challenged to: develop new sources of energy that will have minimal impact on climate; locate new sources of metals and other mineral resources as known sources are depleted; and, determine how Earth's increasing population can live and avoid serious threats such as volcanic activity, earthquakes, landslides, floods...

GROUNDHOG DAY - Punxsutawney Phil For the record, Punxsutawney Phil has an accuracy record of only 39% - pretty crappy record if you ask me. I on the other hand have a goat named Spiros that predicts the weather for me. If he is cold to the touch - its cold outside, wet, it's raining, white, it's snowing, stiff - it's either an ice storm or he's dead. So far he has a 100% accuracy rate - lets make him famous! Punxsutawney Phil the Groundhog is famous for predicting either 6 more weeks of winter or 6 weeks until spring. Am...
