Celebrate Astronomy Day On Saturday, Sept. 30
Posted by Denoyer Geppert on
Astronomy Day occurs twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. Created in 1973, the unofficial holiday raises interest in astronomy by giving the public access to astronomical instruments and the chance to connect with astronomers and space scientists.
The next Astronomy Day is this Saturday, Sept. 30. Spend time with your family and friends to do some stargazing with a telescope. From there, learn more about astronomy with your students.
The Denoyer-Geppert Astronomy Chart Series reveals an illustrated guide to the relationships between the Earth, the sun and other members of the solar system. Use the charts to explore seasons, solar eclipses, and members of the sun's family: major planets, satellites, minor planets, and more.
