Let me pick your nose

True story
A couple years ago in April I tripped in my back yard and connected face to pavement. In shock I laid there briefly confused by what just happened. My first thought was my teeth and I gingerly used my tongue to see if they were still intact. I slowly got up and stumbled into the house with my 8 yr old trailing behind me scared as I was bleeding profusely. In the bathroom I surveyed the damage to my face. Once the bleeding stopped it was clear I had broken my nose. Shakily I touched the bridge and could feel the fracture. I then brought both hands up to either side and snapped it back in place. Don't judge - I was in shock, in hindsight of course I should have gone to the hospital but I stubbornly declared I was fine. And I was, for an hour. I then spent the next 2 days in bed with ice on my face and a killer headache. BTW- the black eyes were a work of art. It was eight months before my nose was back to normal.
